This is an after school activity run by Glamis Hall for All, for 7-15 year olds on Tuesdays or Wednesdays,16:00–1800 hrs.

This programme offers children and their parents the opportunity to learn about cooking in a practical setting that encourages skill development. The cooking club experience will help children:

·         Understand how to prepare foods using good hygiene practices

·         Help to prevent injury in the kitchen

·         Learn to cook a variety of meals from scratch

Cooking clubs give children a chance to appreciate home cooked food first hand and gain confidence in their ability to produce tasty meals.

The Programme

Consists of 6 cooking lessons including food to take home (ingredients provided).

Each lesson plan consists of the following 4 components:

·         Understanding the key learning points of the lesson

·         Preparation activity including weighing and measuring

·         Cooking activity outlining cooking instructions and discussion points

·         Cleaning activity and things to do for cleaning and sanitation

The recipes will include: bread, main meals and desserts. Recipes are designed to serve 4 people.

Those who complete all 6 cooking sessions will be awarded a Glamis Hall Cooking Certificate. Each child who completes the programme will be able to take home some kitchen equipment used during the course.

Cost per child:  £3 per session.
